Crafty Gals Corner - Challenge #98 - Any Holiday

It's time for another challenge with us at the Crafty Gals Corner

This week we are celebrating holidays with
Challenge #98 - Any Holiday

Our sponsors this week are:

QKR Stampede

Prize: 3 Digital Images

The Paper Nest Dolls

Prize: $20 gift Certificate

~~~*~~~*~~~
Today I have used the cute Pumpkin Ellie digital stamp from The Paper Nest Dolls, one of our generous sponsors this week, to make a dimensional Thanksgiving card.
I have coloured Ellie with Copic markers (details below).
The scene and card base is a new-to-me flexi card.  I used a cut file from Lori Whitlock (details below).  As I had already printed, coloured and fussy cut Ellie, I adjusted the dimensions of the cut file so that the card would be the right scale for her, making it much taller.
The card stands 6" wide and 8" tall.
Ellie and the pumpkin have been attached to the picket fence using foam squares.  I have layered two under the right-hand-side and one under the left-hand-side, so that they sit better against the fence when it is open and curved.
Did you notice something wrong with the pic above?
I sure did, a little late but it was fixable.  The pumpkin beside the wheel barrow has the stalk in the wrong spot and luckily I was able to make it right.
The cool thing about this card is that it has a fabulous curved dimension and the layers sit flat for mailing.
  1. Your bendy card is fabulous Tracy, you've done an awesome job putting it together! I love the white picket fence and the wonderful paper that looks just like corrugated iron. I also like the autumn trees in the background. The little girl with her barrow full of pumpkins is very sweet and you did a wonderful job with the colouring. Fabulous!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
  2. I thought sure your card was from Art Impressions when I saw it on Kathy's post. Boy was I wrong, but still it's very cute! And it actually lies flat for mailing? Cool!
      This was my first bendi / flexi card and I look forward to making more, especially now that I know how easy they are to make and how cool they look!
  4. Hey Tracy! Wow, I've never seen a flexi card before, but I love the dimension you get and that it can be mailed just fine. Thanks for sharing it with us! You are so cute with fixing the pumpkin, but I have to admit if I see something I didn't intend with my cards I often go back and change them too. We are hard on ourselves, right?! I think it all looks wonderful, regardless where the stem grows, especially the coloring on your young lady. Fabulous card! And PS. thanks so much for your thoughtful comment on my blog about the photo cards ... I was leaning towards the gingham ribbon one, but since people seem to like the one with the silver foil ribbon OK I think I'll go with that one to avoid any mailing issues. Then maybe the red/gold ribbon one for present toppers for the grandparents : ) Hugs, Kelly
      PS - I totally relate to how hard it can be deciding which design to go with, we're STILL deciding ours!
